Job Description

JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Plumber (Commercial) to join the Bodhi Construction team. This position supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial plumbing systems and associated mechanical equipment. This role works as part of a collaborative field team and performs work under the guidance and direction of Bodhi Construction leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in commercial plumbing systems, solid mechanical aptitude, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach while following established safety standards and procedures. Journeyman Plumbers partner closely with project managers, field crews, and clients to support Bodhi Construction's one-stop-shop service model, prioritizing quality workmanship, system reliability, safety, and long-term client relationships.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond promptly to service calls, maintenance requests, and emergency plumbing issues Troubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, and commission the following systems:
  • Commercial plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems)
  • Water heaters (tank and tankless), recirculation systems, and mixing valves
  • Drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems
  • Commercial fixtures, valves, and backflow prevention devices
  • Piping systems including copper, PEX, cast iron, and PVC Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems Conduct system inspections and identify code compliance issues Assist with tenant improvements, remodels, and new construction installations Identify and recommend repair, replacement, or maintenance needs to improve system reliability and efficiency Coordinate with other trades to ensure efficient project delivery Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites and work areas Complete accurate service documentation, reports, and work orders Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable plumbing codes
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Washington State Journeyman Plumber License (PL01) High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing systems Strong knowledge of:
  • Commercial plumbing systems and components
  • Water distribution, DWV systems, and venting requirements
  • Plumbing codes and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret as-built drawings, schematics, and specifications Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience using a wide range of hand and power tools Basic understanding of mechanical systems and coordination with HVAC/mechanical trades Valid driver's license Strong communication skills with clients, supervisors, and team members Ability to adjust work schedule for occasional off-hours, emergency calls, special projects, or pre-scheduled travel Basic computer skills, including work order systems, Word, and Excel SHIFT Reports to University Place, WA Office for morning meeting and dispatch Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.
m. - finish (most days end by 4pm, but some jobs may require later end times) Occasional after-hours or on-call work as required

$48.00 - $61.00 per hour
