Job Description

Job Summary Community Habilitation staff member plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs within their home and community environments. This position requires a compassionate individual who is skilled in communication and caregiving, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.
Duties:
Provide direct care and support to individual with developmental disabilities and autism in their home and community settings. Assist the participant with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each participant's unique needs and goals. Communicate effectively with the participant, family, and other professionals involved in the care process. Drive clients to appointments, community activities, and social events as required (Driving is required for this position). Monitor client behavior and implement and follow their pre-developed staff action plan to promote positive outcomes. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience in home community care, special education, or childcare preferred. Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities. Ability to drive and possess a valid driver's license. Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality caregiving. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
