Job Description

Champion Concrete Pumping and Conveying, Inc. is now hiring operators at our Hauser, Idaho location. Champion is a family-owned company that has been in business since 1986. No experience is required, Champion provides on the job training for concrete pumps and conveyors. A CONCRETE PUMP OPERATOR
is a skilled machine operator typically working on construction job sites. As opposed to a crane operator, who may go to one job site for six months or a year, a pump operator typically goes from one to three different job sites per day. Pump operators come in all sizes and shapes; there is no one type of operator. The best ones are calm and thoughtful as opposed to nervous and excitable. They can communicate well with others and like to work outdoors and have an infinite variety in their workdays. They are easy to get along with, and conscious of the effects their actions have on other workers. Common sense is more important than book learning, and a positive attitude carries a lot of weight. Duties include controlling the operation of the pump and the output of concrete by directing the hose.

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be efficient, punctual and willing to learn and comprehend the operation of our equipment; as well as some basic mechanics that may be involved in order to keep the equipment in working condition. An operator must also have good customer-relation skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure. Applicants must have High School Diploma or equivalent & must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver's license and good DMV report. Although not a pre-requisite for initial hire, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required, some CDL training maybe available through Champion. Must provide a resume and work history with references.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be on time Be neat clean and professional Drive the pump/conveyor in a safe and conscientious manner to and from job sites. We share the roads with friends, family, neighbors, and customers. Operate the pump/conveyor in a safe and conscientious manner, set up and tear down system, and clean out the pump after the job.
Light repair of equipment:
Some maintenance is required. Know the pump well enough to recognize problems and report them.
Customer relations:
Represent the company through efficient work and courteous service (Customers are the ones that pay our bills here at Champion and for our families. They mean everything to us).
Keep unit clean:
Keep the pump and truck washed and free of concrete, dirt, and grease. Keep system free of concrete.
Yard:
Return system after use to appropriate location in yard. Keep yard neat and orderly.
Paperwork:
Complete and submit pump inspection forms, job tickets, job sheets, mileage sheets and maintenance forms. Keep an accurate timecard of time worked.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to meet DOT requirements of health. Must be able to verbally communicate to others. Good manual dexterity to climb on and around equipment in all weather conditions common to the area. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds to overhead position. Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to set up and dismantle rubber and steel pipe lines Must have the balance and dexterity to maneuver around a construction site, and must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be drug free.
