Concrete Quality Control Field Technician

The Clayton Company is seeking a Concrete Quality Control Field Technician to work in the North Jersey area. Quality Control Field Technician's work directly with dispatchers, batchers, contractors and driver's as concrete is being delivered to job sites on a daily basis. As the concrete is being delivered they test the concrete and make sure it meets the specifications required for that job and also take samples to perform further testing off the job. This position requires the candidate to be able to maneuver wheelbarrows and testing equipment on rough terrain throughout the job site and also be able to climb and inspect concrete in the concrete mixer.

Responsibilities:

Monitor the quality of entire process of ready mix concrete production which includes raw materials, production, and delivery. Comply with all safety regulations, policies and record keeping Follow daily scheduled assignments and read technical specifications provided for each job. Report required data as per Company guidelines Sample and test concrete as it is delivered to job site. Communicate regularly with batching and dispatching personnel, sales representatives, contractors, and customers. Work in a fast paced environment Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment Must be available for early am start times, overnight work, and weekends as needed Skills and abilities: High School graduate 3+ years of experience with testing ready mix concrete A.C.I Field Technician Grade 1 Familiar with concrete mix designs Strong written and verbal communication skills. Independent and self-motivated. Ability to stand, lift, bend, twist, and kneel for extended periods of time. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills Basic computer literacy Basic math skill Team Player Ability to work in all weather conditions
