Chief Financial Officer About the Opportunity A private equity-backed, growth-oriented construction services organization is seeking a high-impact Controller to lead and scale its accounting function. This is a key leadership role supporting a dynamic executive team and investor group, with a clear mandate to build a scalable, audit-ready finance organization in advance of a future transaction. This position is based onsite at the Corporate Office with work required Monday through Friday. Position Overview The Controller will report directly to the CFO and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity structure. This individual will play a critical role in accelerating close timelines, strengthening internal controls, integrating acquisitions, and producing timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting to support executive, board, and investor decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, private equity-backed environments. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Oversee multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting Prepare executive and investor reporting packages, including variance analysis Ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting documentation M&A & Integration Lead accounting integration of acquired companies Establish opening balance sheets and align accounting policies post-acquisition Support due diligence and post-close integration efforts Cash & Controls Oversee cash management, including a rolling 13-week liquidity forecast Strengthen internal controls and ensure audit readiness Manage external audits and compliance requirements Operational Partnership Partner with Operations to enhance job costing, WIP reporting, and financial visibility Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning Drive process and system improvements to support scalability Leadership Manage and develop an established accounting team Build team capacity in alignment with ongoing growth Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience Demonstrated experience in acquisition integration and multi-entity environments Strong knowledge of GAAP and consolidations Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments strongly preferred Proven ability to lead teams and improve processes Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision coverage 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Opportunities for professional development and growth
