Controls Engineer

Controls engineering role focused on automation system design, PLC/PAC programming, project leadership, commissioning, debugging, and customer-site equipment support. Job Requirements 5 to 10 years of controls engineering experience Related degree or equivalent work experience Experience designing machine control systems Experience programming automation and logic controllers Proficiency with multiple automation and logic controller platforms Proficiency with multiple vision system platforms Proficiency with multiple robot platforms Ability to design electrical schematics and network diagrams Ability to estimate programming, commissioning, and debug labor hours for projects of varying size Ability to support work in both office and shop floor environments Ability to travel to customer sites for installation and training Preferred Skills Experience leading controls engineering project teams Experience supporting machine runoff and acceptance Experience interfacing controls architecture with MES systems Experience specifying and programming data collection systems that interface with PLC/PAC systems Experience assisting with quoting and estimating automation projects Experience working with mechanical designers, electrical designers, and machine assembly teams Job Responsibilities Design control systems for automation projects Develop code for machine automation systems Design system architecture for machine control systems Create electrical schematics and network diagrams Specify and program data collection systems that interface with PLC/PAC platforms Interface controls architecture with MES systems Lead large and small controls projects from start to finish Lead teams of controls engineers on larger projects Program automation systems within budget requirements Concept and quote automation projects Assist applications teams with quoting and estimating Troubleshoot automation and machine control systems Commission and debug equipment on the shop floor Support machine runoff and acceptance activities Interface with customers during runoff, acceptance, installation, and training Travel with equipment to customer facilities for installation and training

Pay:
