Cook/Kitchen Job Description Job Summary:

Prepare nutritious and tasteful meals to residents and maintain work station.

Physical Job Requirements:

Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time; bend/stoop; lift/carry/reach over 50 lbs.

Typical Duties:

v Preparing and serving of hot, nutritious and tasteful meals. v Follow portion guidelines v Knowledge of basic nutritional facts. v Knowledge of special diets such as diabetic, low fat, salt free, etc. v Assist with inspections from Health and Fire Departments and cooperate with any needs or requests that they may have. v Keep all refrigerators and freezers clean. v Wash and put away dishes in your unit. v Set and clear tables for all meals. v Basic cleaning of entire kitchen area. v Cleaning and restocking of the dining room v Make sure all foods placed in the refrigerator are dated and properly disposed of after three days. v Stock shelves with food for the weekends. v When serving food make sure plate has a good presentation v Assist and participate in fire drills and other required drills, activities and state regulations v Other duties as assigned by Admin/Kit Mgr General Responsibilities for all staff: v Responsible for the general well being and safety of the residents v Treat residents and staff with dignity and respect v Participation in all required surveys, licensing requirements, fire drills, etc. v Maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of facility v Teamwork and participation v Communication with Administrator/Home Manager/Kitchen Manager. v Greeting residents, families, visitors, peers, other agency personnel with respect and friendliness v Answering phones: , this is, . v Timely notification of absences, illness, etc. and completing appropriate forms v Reporting any incidents to the Administrator/Home Manager and documentation on appropriate forms v Knowledge of and participation in licensing requirements v Continuing education as dictated by job function Complete confidentiality as maintained in regards to resident information •Must be vaccinated•

Pay:

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
