Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cotton Seed Manager to lead our cotton seed operations in Covington, TN. This vital role involves overseeing the entire cotton seed processing and distribution process, ensuring high-quality standards, efficient workflow, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong supervisory skills, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for agriculture to drive operational excellence. As a key leader in our team, you will coordinate planting, harvesting, storage, and quality control activities while fostering a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities Supervise daily cotton seed processing activities, including cleaning, grading, packaging, and storage. Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance. Manage inventory levels of cotton seed products and coordinate logistics for timely distribution. Lead a team of workers by providing training on equipment operation, safety procedures, animal husbandry practices (if applicable), and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment; perform or coordinate repairs such as welding or use of hand tools and power tools. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards across all operations. Collaborate with farm personnel on irrigation systems, growing practices, horticulture needs, greenhouse management, and animal husbandry if integrated into operations. Qualifications Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm-related operations. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on skills in equipment repair, welding, and maintenance. Familiarity with farm machinery including harvesters, irrigation systems, greenhouses, and heavy equipment operation. Experience is a plus but not required. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate forklifts or other heavy machinery. Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping. Knowledge of horticulture practices or greenhouse experience is advantageous. Strong communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
