Custom Cabinet/Woodworking Finisher

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled, expert level Cabinet Finisher to join our Employee Owned Team. This person will specialize in premium cabinet and furniture finishing systems. This position is ideal for a craftsperson who takes pride in producing flawless, furniture grade finishes across a wide range of substrates and coating systems. This position will operate within a dedicated, standalone spray facility, offering a controlled environment to deliver consistent, high-end results. Core Responsibilities Execute high-quality finishing processes for custom cabinetry, millwork, and furniture Apply water-based coatings, stains, sealers, lacquers, and varnishes to specification Perform advanced spray application techniques, including: Conversion varnish systems Pre- and post-catalyzed finishes Waterborne finishes Toners, shading, and glazing systems Perform color matching and finish development to meet client or designer specifications Prepare surfaces through sanding, grain raising, filling, and conditioning Maintain strict quality control standards (defect-free finishes, proper film build, consistency) Managespray equipment setup, maintenance, and cleaning Ensure compliance withIndustry and Company Safety standards, including ventilation, PPE, and material handling Collaborate with Shop Foreman, Operations Manager, and installers to ensure schedule alignment Experience The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience: 5-10 years of Professional finishing experience in high end cabinetry or furniture Proven expertise in: water based finishing systems, stain matching and color development, spray equipment operation (HVLP, Conventional, air assisted/airless systems Strong understanding of: wood species, wood behavior, product absorption, humidity and temperature impacts on finishes and curing processes. Ability to read and interpret finish schedules and shop drawings Ability to produce multi-step finishes and low sheen luxury finishes as may be needed Ability to train finish procedures and lead a Team as growth may dictate Work Environment Dedicated spray booth facility in a separate building Focus is on custom, high end work (not mass production) Clean, professional shop environment with emphasis on quality and safety We welcome the opportunity to bring on a strong candidate to join our Employee Owned family of Companies.
