Job Description

ROOFING PROJECT MANAGER
|
OPERATIONS & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Relentless Roofing Co. is looking for an exceptional Project Manager to completely own our roofing projects from the moment they leave sales through final QC and closeout. This is not a stand-around-the-jobsite-with-a-clipboard position. We need someone who is exceptionally organized, communicates before they need to be asked, obsesses over details, takes care of homeowners, controls costs, leads crews and solves problems. Simply put, we want to be able to hand you a project and never have to wonder whether it's being handled.
We want to know:
The right materials were ordered. The homeowner knows exactly what's happening. The CRM is current. The property is protected correctly. The crew knows exactly what they're doing. The roof is installed to our standards. Problems are being handled. Quality is being checked. Nothing is being forgotten. If you're someone who sees what needs to be done and handles it without needing to be chased, keep reading.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
You will be responsible for the entire production experience from start to finish.
  • Review every sold project before production and catch missing information, scope issues or potential problems.
  • Order the correct materials for each project and verify quantities before installation.
  • Understand, follow and enforce our Owens Corning roofing system and installation standards.
  • Look for opportunities to reduce unnecessary material, labor and production costs without ever compromising the integrity of the roofing system.
  • Maintain and proactively manage the production schedule.
  • Anticipate weather, material, crew and project conflicts before they become emergencies.
  • Communicate proactively with homeowners before, during and after their project.
  • Keep every project completely and accurately updated inside our CRM.
  • Coordinate and manage roofing crews and subcontractors.
  • Set up our Catch-All landscape and property protection system exactly to company standards.
  • Ensure crews understand the complete work order before installation begins.
  • Be present and engaged throughout production, including getting on roofs when necessary.
  • Inspect workmanship and ensure the roofing system is installed correctly.
  • Catch problems early and take ownership of resolving them.
  • Manage material shortages, returns, unexpected conditions and jobsite issues.
  • Document projects properly with required photos and notes.
  • Complete final QC and make sure every homeowner is satisfied before the project is closed.
When something goes wrong, we don't need someone who can simply tell us what happened. We want someone who can say: "Here's what happened. Here's what I did about it. It's handled."
COMMUNICATION IS NON-NEGOTIABLE
Our standard is simple: A homeowner should never have to call us wondering what's happening with their project. You will be one of the primary faces of Relentless Roofing once a project enters production. That requires someone who can remain calm when something goes wrong, listen to a homeowner's concerns, communicate clearly and make them feel confident that they're being taken care of. Customer satisfaction isn't something we check at the end of the job. It's part of your responsibility throughout the entire project.
DETAILS MATTER HERE
We're particular about how our projects are run. How the Catch-All is installed matters. How materials are ordered matters. How a homeowner's property is protected matters. How the roofing system is installed matters. How the crew leaves the jobsite matters. Photos matter. CRM notes matter. Cleanup matters. Final QC matters. The little things are usually what separate an average roofing experience from an exceptional one. We're looking for someone who naturally notices them.
COST AND EFFICIENCY MATTER TOO
Quality comes first, but wasting money isn't acceptable either. We want someone who looks at every project and asks: "How can we execute this more efficiently without compromising the roofing system or the homeowner's experience?" That means paying attention to material quantities, excess orders, returns, unnecessary trips, crew downtime, waste, preventable rework and callbacks. We want someone who treats company money with the same attention they would give their own.
WHO THRIVES HERE
You may be a great fit if you are:
  • Exceptionally organized
  • An outstanding communicator
  • Obsessive about details
  • Calm under pressure
  • Customer-service driven
  • Comfortable leading and holding subcontractors accountable
  • Knowledgeable about roofing or construction
  • Comfortable learning and enforcing the Owens Corning roofing system
  • Financially conscious without cutting corners
  • Strong with technology, CRM systems and documentation
  • Proactive rather than reactive
  • Capable of making decisions and solving problems independently
  • Someone who closes loops instead of leaving loose ends
  • Someone who takes ownership when things don't go according to plan
THIS PROBABLY ISN'T FOR YOU IF
You need reminders to follow up with homeowners. Someone has to ask whether you updated the CRM. You wait until installation morning to discover a material problem. You avoid difficult conversations with crews or subcontractors. You blame someone else when something goes wrong. You think "close enough" is good enough. You understand roofing but can't manage multiple moving pieces at once. You need someone constantly checking behind you to make sure things got done. We aren't looking for someone we have to manage so they can manage our projects.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Once you're fully trained, ownership shouldn't have to wonder: Did the homeowner get called? Were the materials ordered correctly? Is tomorrow's crew ready? Is the Catch-All being set up correctly? Is the CRM updated? Did we document everything? Did somebody handle that problem? Did the crew correct that issue? Did the excess material get returned? Did final QC happen? Is the homeowner happy? You already handled it. That's success in this position.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Roofing experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience managing residential roofing projects. Experience with Owens Corning roofing systems is a major plus. You should have meaningful hands-on knowledge of residential construction and be comfortable getting on a roof when necessary. However, we're willing to teach the right person our exact systems, processes and standards. What is much harder to teach is ownership, exceptional organization, communication, attention to detail and a genuine desire to take care of people.
Additional requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using CRM software, smartphones, photos and other technology
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and priorities
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Comfortable communicating with homeowners, crews, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Reliable, punctual and accountable
SCHEDULE AND TERRITORY
This isn't really a clock-puncher position. Projects dictate the day. Roofing starts early, weather changes plans and occasionally problems happen. You will primarily manage projects throughout the Michiana area. Company vehicle provided.
COMPENSATION 1099
contractor position. Compensation will include guaranteed compensation with the opportunity for additional performance-based incentives. We want exceptional performance rewarded. Performance incentives may be tied to areas including customer satisfaction, quality control, project completion, documentation, operational efficiency and project profitability. Quality and integrity always come first. Cutting corners to reduce costs will never be rewarded.
ABOUT RELENTLESS ROOFING CO.
We're growing, and we're serious about the experience our homeowners receive. We don't expect everything to go perfectly. Roofing and construction don't work that way. We do expect ownership. When something goes sideways, communicate it, solve it and learn from it. We're looking for someone we can trust with our customers, our crews, our reputation and our projects. If you're looking for a position where you're trusted to do your job, given real responsibility and rewarded for producing excellent results, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay:
$80,000.00
  • $90,000.
00 per year Application Question(s): A roofing project is scheduled for tomorrow morning. At 4:00 PM today, you realize the material order doesn't match the work order. The homeowner expects the crew at 7:00 AM. What do you do? You notice a crew completed something differently than the work order calls for. It looks acceptable and the homeowner hasn't noticed. What do you do? Tell us about a construction or project-management situation where something went wrong that was ultimately your responsibility. What happened, what did you do, and what would you do differently today? It's 2:30 PM. You have a homeowner calling about a concern, a crew that needs additional material, tomorrow's homeowner asking what time you'll arrive, three unread internal messages, and a project that needs final QC. Walk us through what you do next and in what order.
