Job Description

Automotive Technician III / Senior Diagnostic Technician JAX Auto Repair is looking for an exceptional Automotive Technician III to help establish the technical standard for our growing shop. This is a senior-level position for a technician who has extensive experience, strong diagnostic abilities, and takes pride in solving difficult problems. We're particularly interested in technicians who understand that modern automotive repair is about diagnosis, information, and problem-solving—not simply replacing parts. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex domestic and import vehicles Perform advanced electrical diagnostics Diagnose drivability and engine-performance concerns Diagnose intermittent and difficult-to-reproduce problems Use advanced scan tools and diagnostic equipment Interpret wiring diagrams and manufacturer diagnostic information Diagnose vehicle communication/network issues Perform complex mechanical repairs Verify repairs through thorough quality-control testing Document diagnostic findings and repair procedures Assist in establishing diagnostic and repair procedures for the shop Mentor and assist less-experienced technicians Help maintain JAX's technical standards as the shop grows Qualifications 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred Extensive diagnostic experience Strong electrical and drivability diagnostic skills Advanced scan-tool experience Strong understanding of modern vehicle systems Ability to diagnose complex/intermittent problems Ability to work independently Own professional hand tools Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Preferred Qualifications Multiple ASE certifications ASE Master Automobile Technician certification A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems A8 Engine Performance Experience with CAN-bus/network diagnostics Advanced electrical diagnostic experience Experience mentoring other technicians What We Offer Competitive senior-level compensation based on experience and ability Opportunities for advancement Pay increases based on continued development and certifications Modern diagnostic equipment Professional and clean shop environment Training and continued professional development Opportunity to help shape the technical culture of a growing repair business Respectful workplace where experience and expertise are valued Who We're Looking For We're looking for the technician who gets the difficult jobs. Pay:
$33.00 - $40.00 per hour
