We are looking for a Service Manager who will lead by example and bring that value to life every day. Position Overview Home Energy Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Residential HVAC Service Manager to lead and develop our team of residential service technicians. This position is responsible for ensuring that our technicians deliver exceptional customer service, accurately diagnose and resolve HVAC equipment problems, and identify appropriate sales opportunities by presenting homeowners with honest and ethical solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with residential HVAC experience who enjoys coaching technicians, solving technical problems, improving performance, and building a team culture centered on integrity, accountability, and service. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and support a team of residential HVAC service technicians. Ensure every customer receives timely, professional, and respectful service. Help technicians strengthen their diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Provide technical support on challenging furnace, air-conditioning, heat-pump, boiler, electrical, and indoor-air-quality issues. Review technician performance and provide regular coaching, training, and accountability. Conduct ride-alongs and field visits to evaluate workmanship, communication, sales practices, and adherence to company standards. Help technicians recognize legitimate repair, replacement, maintenance, and indoor-air-quality opportunities. Drive service revenue and sales performance through honest recommendations that are in the customer's best interest. Monitor key performance indicators, including customer satisfaction, callbacks, productivity, maintenance conversions, replacement leads, average ticket, and sales results. Address customer concerns promptly and professionally while protecting the company's reputation. Ensure service work is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and manufacturer requirements. Work closely with dispatch, customer service, sales, installation, and company leadership to create a seamless customer experience. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining high-quality service technicians. Help manage parts, tools, vehicles, and other resources needed by the service department. Promote a positive and accountable team environment that reflects our Heart of a Servant core value. Qualifications Proven residential HVAC service, repair, or leadership experience. Strong knowledge of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, refrigeration systems, electrical components, airflow, and indoor-air-quality products. Excellent HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Experience leading, coaching, or developing field service technicians. Ability to balance excellent customer service, technical accuracy, operational efficiency, and sales performance. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills. Honest, ethical, and customer-focused approach to service and sales. Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a supportive leadership style. Comfortable reviewing performance metrics and using data to improve departmental results. Familiarity with service-management software such as ServiceTitan is preferred. EPA Section 608 certification is preferred. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
