Company Overview Established mechanical contractor providing installation, service, repair, and maintenance for commercial and industrial customers. We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and continued growth of a technical service team. Position Summary The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing service operations, including technician leadership, scheduling, estimating, customer relationships, technical support, safety, and business development. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to support field operations as needed. Duties & Responsibilities Lead, schedule, and manage service technicians and daily department operations. Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field employees. Assist in the field with complex service calls, equipment startups, and troubleshooting as needed. Prepare estimates, proposals, and quotes and follow up with customers. Monitor service work for productivity, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify new service opportunities. Support the growth of preventative maintenance and service agreement programs. Identify training needs and support the continued development of technicians. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding service employees. Ensure timely and accurate completion of service documentation and time entry. Coordinate resources with other departments as needed. Participate in after-hours emergency/on-call coverage as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in mechanical service, HVAC, industrial equipment, boiler service, or a related field. Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead technician experience preferred. Strong understanding of commercial and industrial mechanical systems, controls, electrical systems, and related equipment. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to estimate service work and understand labor, material, and job costs. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills. Ability to build customer relationships and identify service opportunities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn company software. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work outside normal business hours and travel occasionally as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to work in mechanical rooms, construction sites, and industrial facilities. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and use hand and power tools. Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
