Job description Star Industries is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and customer-focused Account Manager to join our growing team. This is an in-office sales position. It is not an outside sales or territory sales position. The Account Manager works in office Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm and works directly with customers primarily by phone and email. This individual will be responsible for handling incoming calls, identifying customer needs, taking and processing customer orders, upselling and cross-selling products, preparing and following up on quotes, closing sales, and ensuring orders are processed accurately in our CRM system, Business Central 365. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in industrial equipment rentals or sales, with a thorough understanding of construction equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, forklifts, and attachments. The right person will be comfortable talking with contractors, equipment dealers, rental companies, and other customers and will know how to turn a customer inquiry into a sale. Job Responsibilities

Customer Support & Sales:

o Answer incoming customer calls and respond to customer inquiries by phone and email. o Understand customer needs and recommend the appropriate Star Industries product or attachment. o Provide product information, pricing, availability, and lead-time information. o Prepare accurate quotes based on customer requirements. o Follow up on open quotes and customer inquiries. o Close quotes and convert opportunities into orders. o Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products when appropriate. o Develop strong working relationships with existing customers through responsive and knowledgeable customer service.

Order Management:

o Take and accurately process customer orders. o Enter orders, quotes, customer information, and related activity into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. o Verify product, pricing, quantity, shipping, and customer information before orders are submitted. o Communicate with production, engineering, shipping, and other internal departments to ensure orders are processed correctly. o Monitor order status and provide customers with timely updates.

Product Knowledge :

o Use your existing knowledge of construction equipment and attachments to understand customer applications and recommend the right product. o Confidently discuss Star Industries products, including Trash Skips, Augers, Buckets, Loading Platforms, Hoppers, JIB Booms, and other heavy-duty attachments. o Understand how attachments are used with equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, forklifts, and other construction equipment. o Answer customer questions and provide practical product guidance. o Recognize when a customer may need an additional product or a different attachment based on their application.

Customer Issue Resolution :

o Address customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally. o Track customer issues through resolution and communicate updates as needed. o Work with internal departments to resolve order, product, shipping, or service-related issues. o Follow up with customers after the sale when needed to ensure their needs have been met.

Customer Follow-Up :

o Maintain consistent follow-up with customers regarding quotes, orders, and product questions. o Encourage repeat business by providing knowledgeable, responsive customer service. o Maintain accurate customer records and communication history in Business Central.

• Perform other related duties as required or directed : o Adapt to changing business needs and contribute to projects or tasks as necessary to support the team and company goals. Job Requirements

Required Experience & Product Knowledge:

o 3-5 years of experience in construction equipment, heavy equipment, equipment rentals, equipment attachments, industrial equipment sales, or a closely related industry. o Strong existing knowledge of construction equipment and attachments is required . o Ability to confidently discuss equipment applications and recommend products based on customer needs. o Previous inside sales or customer-facing sales experience is strongly preferred. o Experience selling construction equipment, attachments, parts, or related products is highly preferred. o Candidates should already have a working knowledge of construction equipment and attachments and be able to apply that knowledge when speaking with customers.

Customer Service Skills & Sales :

o Strong telephone and customer service skills. o Comfortable asking questions to understand what the customer needs. o Ability to prepare quotes, follow up, and close sales. o Comfortable upselling and cross-selling when it makes sense for the customer. o Professional and confident when communicating with customers. o Able to build strong customer relationships through responsiveness and product knowledge.

Organization & Technology :

o Strong attention to detail and accuracy. o Ability to manage multiple customer requests, quotes, and orders at the same time. o Experience using CRM, ERP, or order management system. o Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus. o Strong computer skills and the ability to learn company-specific systems quickly.

Teamwork & Reliability :

o Works well with production, engineering, shipping, and other internal departments. o Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment. o Takes ownership of customer requests and follows through to completion. o Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality. o Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
