Full Job Description Position Qualifications:
A high school diploma/GED Ability to be proactive in advocating for the victim-survivor client. Ability to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to the diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds of clients. An ability to work with all victims of sexual assault and domestic violence without bias or prejudice regarding prostitution, drug abuse, abortion, use of alcohol, differences in abilities, sexual orientation, age, race, color, creed, or religious affiliation. Proficiency with computer data entry Use crisis intervention techniques that promote client empowerment and self-determination. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work as a team member. Flexibility regarding work schedule. The ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful.
Special Employment Conditions:
This is a non-exempt, hourly wage position which may include overnight, weekend, and evening work. Must attend a 40-hour sexual assault training within 6 months of the hire date. Conduct yourself according to the Vision and Mission of the agency. May take pictures, produce artwork or other creative works for agency projects, all of which become property of the agency. Duties and Responsibilities (Sexual Assault): A. Agency duties shall be, but not limited to: Provide a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to client care. Work shifts, as needed, to ensure 24/7, 365 phone coverage. Assure the hotline phone is answered at all times. Provide crisis intervention, information for referrals, and supportive listening for incoming calls and requests for assistance. Conduct initial intake information and complete paperwork. Refer all client interactions to the Case Manager Maintain a professional relationship that assists clients in goal attainment. Clean and prepare client rooms as needed. Clean office and other work areas as needed. Assist Case Managers as instructed. Collaborate with other staff to provide timely responses to all residents.
