Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant to Shop Manager to join our dynamic automotive service team. This vital role supports the shop manager in daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow, excellent customer service, and efficient shop performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong automotive background, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering top-tier vehicle care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a fast-paced environment while contributing to the success of our automotive service center. Responsibilities Assist the shop manager in coordinating daily shop activities, including scheduling and workflow management Support automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and transmission work Oversee customer interactions by providing exceptional service, explaining repairs, and upselling additional services when appropriate Handle auto estimating and service writing to accurately document vehicle issues and repair plans Manage cash handling and billing processes efficiently and accurately Ensure compliance with safety standards related to automotive repair including air brake systems, suspension, shocks & struts, alignments, and diesel engine repairs Support inventory management by tracking parts and supplies needed for various automotive services Experience Previous dealership experience or background in automotive service management is highly preferred Hands-on mechanic experience with expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and vehicle maintenance Knowledge of auto estimating software and service writing procedures Familiarity with a wide range of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, air brakes, alignments, suspensions, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repairs, diesel engines Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Sales experience related to automobile sales or upselling additional services is advantageous Proven ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering exceptional automotive care while advancing your career in a supportive environment. Pay:
$14.25 - $18.00 per hour
