Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Drayage Customer Service Specialist who enjoys working with a responsive operations team, supportive leadership, and a collaborative environment where accuracy, communication, and timely problem-solving are valued. This role supports daily container transportation operations in a fast-paced logistics and import-export environment, serving as a key communication point between customers, carriers, dispatch teams, drivers, and terminal systems. This is a strong opportunity for a transportation customer service professional who understands drayage operations, container tracking, empty returns, and shipment follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing drayage orders from initial entry through delivery and empty container return.
- Monitoring containers through terminal systems and providing timely shipment updates to customers and internal teams.
- Coordinating with customers, carriers, dispatch, and drivers to support on-time pickups, deliveries, and returns.
- Tracking empty returns, restrictions, appointments, container status, and related shipment requirements.
- Obtaining written approval for accessorial charges and uploading required documentation into the TMS.
- Resolving customer concerns, shipment delays, transportation issues, and documentation needs promptly and professionally.
Pay Range:
$24 to $27 per hour, DOE.Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
