Commission Job Summary:
The Service Advisor is responsible for managing day-to-day customer service, writing new work orders, assisting customers with scheduling service on golf cars, and coordinating rental quotes and scheduling. The role involves scheduling customers through our dispatch system, learning software navigation for efficient service management, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The Service Advisor uses a solid understanding of automotive and motorsport technology to relay customer concerns to service technicians, ensuring that vehicles are repaired accurately and promptly. Attention to detail and thoroughness are essential in performing these tasks to maintain high service standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Initiate automotive services and repairs by understanding customer-reported performance problems and service requests. Verify warranty and service contract coverage, develop estimates, write repair orders, and maintain customer records. Identify automotive issues by listening to customer descriptions, conducting inspections, and examining service history. Work closely with service technicians to get diagnoses and report back to customers with accurate service information. Calculate customer payment, including deductibles, and provide quotes for repair costs. Schedule customer appointments and dispatch services using the company's dispatch system. Assist with rental quotes and scheduling, ensuring timely and accurate booking of rentals. Stay up-to-date with work orders and parts required for repairs. Prepare repair orders (RO), documenting symptoms, causes, repairs, and services needed. Obtain approval signatures and enter ROs into the service database. Maintain positive customer relationships by providing updates, answering questions, and resolving concerns. Communicate clearly with customers about estimates, expected completion times, and required approvals for service. Keep customers informed about the status of their golf cars, including timelines and any additional repairs needed. Document all relevant customer information, problems, and corrective actions in service records. Stay current with industry knowledge and updates by participating in educational opportunities and reviewing manufacturer publications. Contribute to the organization's reputation by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value to the service process. Perform other duties as assigned by management as needed. Learn and effectively navigate the company's software systems for managing customer service, work orders, and scheduling.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Highly self-motivated with a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service. In-depth knowledge of automotive and motorsport products, repairs, and parts. Familiarity with Windows computers, essential programs, and performance tracking software. Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maintain professional service standards. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and technicians effectively. Ability to educate customers on the technical aspects of their golf cars and repair processes. Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Attention to detail and thoroughness in all aspects of the service process. Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Education and Experience:
5+ years of experience in the automotive or motorsport industry. High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic math skills for preparing and processing bills and payments. Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift parts up to 80 pounds. Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion tasks such as typing and writing.
