In this important customer-facing role, you will serve as the primary connection between our customers and our service technicians, helping ensure every repair and maintenance experience is handled professionally from start to finish. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable managing multiple repair orders at once. You will be responsible for communicating with customers, preparing estimates, recommending needed maintenance and repairs, coordinating with technicians, and helping keep the service department productive and profitable. If you enjoy working around motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, boats, and trailers and want to build a career in the powersports and marine industry, we want to hear from you. Duties & Responsibilities Greet customers professionally and listen carefully to their service, repair, and maintenance concerns. Accurately document customer concerns and create detailed repair orders. Prepare estimates for parts, labor, maintenance, diagnostics, and recommended repairs. Communicate technician findings and repair recommendations clearly and professionally to customers. Obtain customer authorization before completing additional repairs or services. Recommend preventative maintenance and additional services based on manufacturer recommendations, vehicle condition, and customer needs. Coordinate with technicians and the Service Manager to prioritize work and maintain an efficient shop schedule. Keep customers updated on repair progress, estimated completion dates, parts availability, and changes to repair estimates. Work closely with the Parts Department to verify parts availability and pricing. Review completed repair orders for accuracy before customer delivery. Process invoices and customer payments accurately. Maintain detailed records of customer communication, repair authorizations, and service history. Help ensure units are completed and delivered to customers in a timely and professional manner. Assist with warranty repairs, service contracts, and manufacturer documentation when needed. Build long-term relationships with customers by providing dependable communication and excellent service. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service-writing area. Products You May Work With Our Service Department works on a wide variety of products, including: Motorcycles ATVs Side-by-Sides / UTVs Personal Watercraft Boats and Marine Products Utility Trailers Dump Trailers Equipment Trailers Boat Trailers Other Powersports and Recreational Vehicles Qualifications Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, Service Manager, or similar customer-facing service position is preferred. Powersports, marine, trailer, automotive, or mechanical experience is highly desirable. General mechanical knowledge and the ability to understand and explain repairs to customers. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable discussing repair recommendations and selling necessary maintenance and services without using high-pressure sales tactics. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers and repair orders simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, parts personnel, management, and customers. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership management and service-writing software. Strong attention to detail when preparing estimates, repair orders, invoices, and customer documentation. Ability to remain professional and solution-oriented when dealing with difficult situations or frustrated customers. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the customer experience. Communication is one of the most important parts of this position. Customers should always know what is happening with their unit, what repairs are being recommended, what those repairs will cost, and when they can expect their unit to be completed. You do not need to know everything about every motorcycle, boat, side-by-side, or trailer on day one. However, you should be willing to learn, comfortable around mechanical equipment, dependable, organized, and motivated to provide excellent customer service.
