SUMMARY OF MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Under supervision, responsible for operating the telephone que, scheduling appointments, welcoming persons coming into the reception area in a warm and efficient manner, and responding to inquiries and handling complaints. In addition, he/she will perform other clerical duties.
DUTIES:
Answers the telephone, displaying good communication skills, provides information and refers callers to appropriate persons or departments. When unable to transfer a phone call, e-mails the counselor/therapist and supervisor to ensure messages are delivered. Greets visitors/clients, makes appropriate introductions and efficiently directs the individual to the appropriate place. Performs other clerical tasks such as filing paperwork, copying packets for new clients & faxing inter-program paperwork. Schedules/confirms out-patient appointments. Collects insurance information for potential clients & verifies Medi-cal eligibility for Medi-cal clients. Collects copays for private insurance clients & payments for private pay clients. Completes all necessary reports, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility. Participates as an active member of assigned committees. Participates in assigned trainings. Distributes inter-program paperwork for the other sites. Maintains adequate attendance to fulfill all job duties without causing hardship to the supervisor or company. Supports and adheres to the rules and regulations of the Board of Directors. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
1100% of all calls will be answered live during normal operating hours. Dropped call rate will be 10% or less. Will have 99% accuracy in regards to scheduling client services and documenting client information into electronic health records. 100% of all confirmation calls will be completed prior to 48 hours of service.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a high school diploma or GED Previous experience in an institutional or service-oriented environment; experience working with constituents or community groups is preferred.

Knowledge and skills of: Excellent communication and customer service skills, Highly professional demeanor Ability to: Identify actual or potential problems or issues pertaining to behavioral health programs or services, address such problems, and develop or assist in developing effective resolutions; Exercise appropriate judgment when making decisions and/or following recommendations, including how decisions or recommendations could have adverse effects; Exercise appropriate judgment when dealing with information which may be confidential or sensitive in nature; Exercise initiative, judgment, prioritization, multitasking, problem solving, decision- making with quality results; Read, understand, interpret, apply, and explain documents, requirements, policies and procedures; Effectively organize and prioritize assignments, projects, and workload to meet deadlines that have strict timelines; Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; Establish and maintain effective relationships with Supervisors, Coworkers and Members. Prepare reports and maintain records; Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; Work independently; Maintain confidentiality; Maintain professional appearance at all times; Maintain appropriate and timely communication with family, significant others, and referral sources conveying a positive professional image; Implement, and interpret policies and procedures and effectively communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population.

$20.00 per hour
