The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and estimating, with the ability to provide accurate assessments of vehicle damage and repair costs. This role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and exceptional service. Duties Evaluate damaged vehicles and prepare detailed estimates for repairs. Communicate with customers regarding the scope of work, timelines, and costs associated with repairs. Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate assessments and efficient repair processes. Utilize automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, repair techniques, and parts pricing. Upsell additional services or repairs based on customer needs and vehicle condition. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of estimates and invoices. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the repair process to enhance customer satisfaction. Skills Proven experience in auto estimating, preferably in a dealership environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. Familiarity with various automotive systems including transmissions, air brakes, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, brake repair, and oil changes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Experience in sales and upselling techniques within an automotive context. Proficient in service writing and understanding of automotive service processes. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly. Previous experience as a service technician is a plus.
