Responsibilities and Duties The Service Advisor is responsible for service work in the service department and for selling additional needed service to customers. The Service Advisor/Consultant is the dealership's first-line customer-relations and service representative. Specific duties for the Automotive Service Advisor include: Schedules service appointments. Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains information. Document customer concerns. Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service. Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts. Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed. Maintains high customer satisfaction standards. Knowledge of basic automotive functions Excellent customer service Qualifications and Skills Job Requirements You must have an engaging and high-energy personality and the ability to build rapport and develop trust with customers. You must also have a strong work ethic, work well as part of a team and take pride in the work you do.
