Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alterations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fashion retail and garment construction, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure their garments fit perfectly, utilizing sewing skills and knowledge of fabric types to make precise alterations. Duties Assess garments for alterations based on customer requests and measurements. Perform various alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and adjusting garment lengths. Operate sewing machines and other equipment to complete alterations efficiently. Maintain high-quality standards throughout the alteration process to ensure customer satisfaction. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their needs and preferences. Keep the work area organized and clean, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available. Stay updated on current fashion trends and techniques in garment construction to enhance skills. Experience Proven experience in fashion retail or a related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabrics. Proficiency in using sewing machines and basic sewing tools. Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients. Previous experience in alterations or tailoring is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
