Job Description
Insurance Customer Service AssistantOverview We are looking for a dependable, organized, and personable Insurance Customer Service Assistant to join our agency. This position is ideal for someone who is already Property & Casualty licensed and comfortable working directly with clients in a fast-paced insurance office. The primary focus of this role is client service, administrative support, policy-related tasks, scheduling, follow-up, and helping keep the agency organized and running efficiently. This person will serve as an important point of contact for our clients and will work closely with the agent to handle day-to-day service needs, complete assigned tasks, coordinate appointments, and identify opportunities to better serve existing clients. There is also an opportunity to earn additional compensation through cross-selling commissions and agency performance bonuses . Schedule Monday through
Thursday:
9:00 AM to 5:00PM Friday:
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM In-office position Approximately 37 hours per week Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for existing clients by phone, email, and in person Assist clients with routine policy service requests, billing questions, policy documents, and account updates Process and follow up on client service tasks accurately and promptly Schedule client appointments and help manage the agent's calendar Follow up with clients regarding outstanding information, signatures, documents, underwriting requests, and other pending items Maintain accurate and organized client records within the agency's CRM and insurance systems Assist with policy changes, renewals, cancellations, vehicle and driver changes, mortgagee updates, and other routine servicing needs Help prepare information and documentation needed for quotes and policy reviews Communicate professionally with clients, underwriters, lenders, claims representatives, and other business partners Identify cross-selling opportunities within the existing book of business, including additional personal and commercial insurance products Conduct outbound follow-up with existing clients when appropriate Support new-business opportunities by gathering information, preparing applications, and assisting throughout the quoting process Monitor assigned tasks and follow-ups to ensure client requests are addressed in a timely manner Assist with general administrative duties necessary to keep the agency organized and efficient Work closely with the agent on agency production and retention goals Compensation Competitive hourly compensation based on experience Additional commission opportunities for qualifying cross-sold business Built-in monthly or periodic performance bonuses tied to overall agency goals Opportunity for increased compensation and responsibility based on performance Qualifications Active Property & Casualty insurance license strongly preferred and will be given priority Previous insurance agency experience strongly preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Comfortable speaking with clients by phone, email, and in person Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow-ups without losing track of deadlines Comfortable learning and using insurance software, CRM systems, email, and Microsoft Office Ability to work independently while also knowing when an issue should be escalated to the agent Professional, dependable, and accountable Comfortable identifying additional insurance needs and discussing appropriate products with existing clients Sales experience is helpful, but this is primarily a customer service and administrative support position What We Are Looking For The right person for this role is someone who enjoys helping people, stays organized, follows through on commitments, and can confidently handle client interactions without needing constant supervision. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted part of the agency, take ownership of day-to-day client service responsibilities, and help create a smooth experience for both our clients and the rest of the team. This is not a high-pressure sales position. However, we do want someone who is comfortable recognizing opportunities to better protect existing clients and who is motivated by additional commission and performance-based bonus opportunities.Pay:
