Build Your Career in Intermodal Logistics RoadOne IntermodaLogistics is seeking a dependable, customer-focused professional to join our Joliet service center. In this role, you will help keep freight moving by coordinating customer orders, tracking shipments, communicating updates, and working closely with dispatch and operations to resolve issues before they affect service. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with people, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. What You Will Do- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and provide timely, professional shipment updates.
- Enter customer orders accurately and completely into the transportation management system.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries and coordinate special customer requirements.
- Track and trace active shipments to identify delays or service concerns before they become larger problems.
- Monitor on-time pickup and delivery performance and prepare tracking reports.
- Communicate closely with dispatchers, drivers, rail carriers, and terminal partners to resolve operational issues.
- Advise customers of delays, accessorial charges, or other exceptions affecting their freight.
- Build strong customer relationships by responding promptly and following through on commitments.
- Partner with operations and the revenue team to support customer retention and business growth.
- Learn and follow the operating requirements of customers, rail carriers, ports, and terminals.
- Perform other duties as assigned. What We Are Looking For
- Previous customer service experience; transportation, logistics, warehousing, intermodal, or import/export experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer, data-entry, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain accurate in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions independently.
- Professional, flexible, and dependable team-oriented approach.
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to work additional or adjusted hours when needed to support special customer requirements.
