Job Summary
POSITION OVERVIEW
Customer service representatives are the client's first contact when calling or visiting the veterinary hospital. All CSRs will adhere to the baseline requirements established by All Creatures Animal Hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets clients, enters or updates client and pet information into Cornerstone computer software Receives and transmits telephone and fax messages accurately and promptly, using a multi-line telephone system Answers client's inquiries about hospital policies, basic pet care questions and basic costs Follows hospital procedures of record keeping for client communications, exams and surgery Prepares client invoices and obtains payments after services performed Screens calls to determine which should be handled by other staff members; follows established policies and procedures in referring clients for immediate treatment of animals when requests are accompanied by descriptions of acute symptoms Performs over-the-counter sales of specialty foods, exercising a technical knowledge of products sold Possesses a working knowledge of heartworm, flea and tick products and how they are used Takes orders for medication refills and processes them quickly Documents vaccine and euthanasia information correctly Maintains the appearance of the business office and reception area Performs other duties as assigned
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Be flexible in attitude and work habits Understand and carry out oral and written directions Display tact and diplomacy with staff members and clients Maintain pleasant and cooperative relationships with other employees Perform basic entry level computer skills Perform basic cleaning duties in the reception area Be able to lift and carry animals, files or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs Be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time Feel and express a genuine liking for animals and for working in an animal care environment Deal intelligibly, pleasantly and efficiently with clients on the telephone and in person, often doing several things at one time Quickly learn how to pronounce, know the meaning of and spell commonly used veterinary terms Ability to be a self-starter
AGE REQUIREMENT
Minimum 18 years old
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
High school degree
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous customer service or administrative assistant experience preferred Previous experience with basic office clerical functions in a busy environment
JOB TYPE
Full-time, MUST work two Saturdays a month
