Summary:
The Cashier must be accurate, reliable, and friendly. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to handle cash and credit/debit card transactions accurately and efficiently. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Essential Duties:
Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required. Provide excellent customer service to all customers. Greet customers and conduct transactions in a helpful manner. Operate registers, scanners, credit card/debit card terminals, and fuel consoles safely and efficiently. Perform basic math functions to collect payments and make change. Perform light paperwork duties as assigned. Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items, such as alcohol or cigarettes. Balance cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift. Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the employee handbook. Maintain a well-organized, stocked, safe and clean work environment. Promote the rewards program as well as the approved merchandise or marketing programs. Work toward continuous quality improvement. Promote a positive team environment. Stay current with changing technology, including software and job programs. Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures as well as industry, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures.
