Graphic Design, Prepress & Customer Service Associate Kentucky Printing | Richmond, KY | Full-Time Monday-Friday | 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. About Us Kentucky Printing is a family-run commercial printing company in Richmond, Kentucky, serving businesses and organizations since 1978. We're a small, tight-knit team that takes pride in quality work, strong customer relationships, and getting the details right. We're growing and looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our team. The Role We're hiring a Graphic Design, Prepress & Customer Service Associate for a hands-on role that combines print production, prepress, and direct customer communication. You'll prepare and proof customer files for print, identify and resolve potential production issues, and communicate directly with customers about their projects. You'll also operate our digital printing equipment and help move jobs smoothly from file intake through production and finishing. This is not primarily a creative graphic-design position . While some design knowledge is helpful, the role is more focused on preparing customer-supplied artwork for production, problem-solving, accuracy, and keeping jobs moving. This role can be a great fit for someone looking to build hands-on experience in commercial printing, prepress, customer service, and production. We're happy to train the right person on our equipment and workflow. What You'll Do Prepare, proof, and troubleshoot customer files for print production Check files for issues such as sizing, bleeds, resolution, fonts, color, and other production requirements Communicate directly with customers to clarify specifications, resolve file issues, answer questions, and manage turnaround expectations Operate digital production presses and prepare completed jobs for the next stage of production Follow assigned jobs from file intake through production and finishing Make minor customer-requested artwork or file corrections when needed Learn and use our in-house prepress, estimating, and workflow systems Work closely with our production team to ensure jobs are accurate and completed on schedule What We're Looking For Experience in prepress, graphic design, commercial printing, or a related field is preferred, but we're open to someone with strong foundational skills who is eager to learn Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat is strongly preferred Comfortable working with PDFs and customer-supplied artwork Strong communication and customer-service skills Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple jobs at once Comfortable learning new software and production equipment Able to take ownership of a job and follow it through to completion A college degree is appreciated but not required . Demonstrated ability, attention to detail, reliability, and personality are more important to us than a specific degree. Compensation:
Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience. If you enjoy solving problems, working with customers, and seeing a project move from a computer screen to a finished printed product, we'd like to hear from you.
