We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in a unique clinical support role focused on assisting our centralized call center and supporting continuity of care across our urgent care locations. This is not a telehealth position. The provider will not maintain a scheduled panel of virtual patient visits. Instead, this position serves as a clinical resource for our call center, patients, pharmacies, and on-site clinical teams. The Opportunity Our urgent care centers generate a significant volume of patient follow-up communication, pharmacy inquiries, diagnostic results, and clinical questions each day. We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider who can provide dedicated clinical support to help manage these communications efficiently, safely, and compassionately. Working from our dedicated call center, the provider will collaborate with call center representatives, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical staff across our organization. The ideal candidate is an experienced outpatient clinician who enjoys patient communication, clinical problem-solving, care coordination, and working collaboratively behind the scenes to support a busy multi-site practice. The provider will not be responsible for conducting scheduled virtual visits or independently managing a traditional telemedicine patient panel. Instead, the position focuses on clinical communication, results management, pharmacy coordination, patient follow-up, and supporting our centralized call center with questions that require a licensed clinician. Schedule We anticipate approximately 25-30 hours per week , with scheduling designed around the needs of our clinical operations and call center. This position may be particularly attractive to an experienced provider seeking to remain actively involved in clinical medicine while transitioning away from the physical demands and pace of traditional full-time urgent care shifts. Qualifications Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Current or eligible Massachusetts professional licensure Active DEA registration preferred Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, or outpatient medicine strongly preferred Strong understanding of outpatient clinical workflows and appropriate patient follow-up Comfortable reviewing radiology reports and other diagnostic results Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize situations requiring escalation Excellent telephone and patient communication skills Strong documentation and organizational skills Comfortable working collaboratively with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, call center representatives, pharmacies, and other members of the clinical team Ideal Candidate This position may be an excellent fit for an experienced clinician who enjoys the intellectual and communication aspects of medicine but is looking for a different pace than traditional urgent care. The ideal candidate is comfortable making clinical decisions, communicating with patients, reviewing diagnostic results, resolving pharmacy questions, and determining when a concern can be appropriately addressed through follow-up versus when a patient should return for an in-person evaluation. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can become a trusted clinical resource for both our patients and our staff while helping ensure that the care provided in our centers continues after the patient leaves the exam room.
