Job Description

General Summary :
Following established procedures, receives and answers incoming phone calls and directs them to the designated person or program via office telephone. Places long distance calls for staff and patients. Maintains chronological logs and records.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :
Communicates in a therapeutic, respectful way with patients at the patients' level of understanding. Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to answer and properly route telephone calls, exchange routine information, and transmit confidential/sensitive information (more than 80% of work time). Work requires the ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with a diverse group of people in a wide variety of situations; the ability to comprehend oral and written instructions and transmit oral instructions; and the ability to maintain files and chronological logs. This level of general educational development requires a high school education; one year of relevant experience will be considered as a substitute for possession of a high school diploma.
