Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Client Services Representative will assist in Clinic Services Supervisor, other CSRs, Veterinary Technicians/Assistants and Veterinarians in all aspects of Animal Welfare Society's Community Veterinary Clinic including, but not limited to, clients relations, administrative duties, animal care and office maintenance. CSR must possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, compassion, ability to multitask, a positive attitude and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Works collaboratively within all levels of the organization and across departments Open and close the cash drawer on days as requested Prepare and print daily surgery/appointment consent forms and cage cards as requested Communicate with the public on a daily basis in an efficient and professional manner Greet clients, admit patients and escort clients to clean and dry exam rooms for appointments as requested Monitor client/patient flow from check-in through check-out or discharge Intake/discharge patients and process payments and over the counter sales as requested Communicate basic veterinary concepts to clients and repeat correct information relayed by veterinary staff Schedule appointments and procedures for public clients following deposit procedures Work directly with Clinic and Adoption Center staff to schedule shelter animals for veterinary services as requested Answer and triage phone calls, voicemails and emails Set up clients and patients in practice management software following deposit procedures Screen potential clients for income-qualified assistance Process client refill requests including prescription medications/foods Receive and log incoming lab samples as requested Remain knowledgeable and in compliance with AWS personnel guidelines, applicable State and Federal laws and AWS policies, procedures and programs Support programs and activities of AWS as requested Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent Previous medical receptionist or veterinary/animal welfare experience preferred Excellent computer skills and preferred knowledge of MacOS, but willing to train the right candidate Working knowledge of vaccinations, basic lab tests, common diseases, medications and general pet behavior Solid written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise while maintaining a professional, courteous attitude.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
High degree of mobility required Ability to stand and sit for extended periods Frequent contact and handling of animals Ability to lift 50 pounds Maintain a valid driver's license Normal work hours including weekends
