Diesel Service Writer

Job Summary We are a busy diesel repair shop focused on honest service, strong communication, and keeping our customers' trucks and equipment on the road. We are looking to hire an experienced service writer who is willing to develop standards of practice for our shop. The service writer is the main point of contact between our shop and our customers. You will greet customers, gather information about service needs, communicate repair updates, help prepare estimates and invoices, and support light sales efforts by recommending appropriate services and maintenance. This is a great fit for someone with 2-3 years of customer service experience and somesalesexperience who is organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. Duties Greet customers in person and by phone Listen to customer concerns and clearly document service requests Open repair orders and enter accurate customer and vehicle/equipment information Communicate with technicians and management to track job progress Provide customers with updates on repairs, timelines, and approvals Prepare estimates, invoices, and service recommendations Support light sales by identifying maintenance needs and additional service opportunities Schedule appointments and help manage shop workflow Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with customers Handle follow-up calls and help build long-term customer relationships Keep service records organized and up to date Experience 2-3 years of customer service experience Some sales experience, upselling experience, or experience recommending services Strong communication and people skills Good phone etiquette and professional demeanor Strong organization and attention to detail Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced setting Basic computer skills and comfort learning shop software Experience in automotive, diesel, trucking, fleet, or service-related industries is a plus, but not required Other Qualifications Dependable and punctual Friendly, confident, and professional Able to communicate clearly with both customers and technicians Comfortable asking for approvals and discussing recommended services Motivated to help the shop grow and improve the customer experience Join our team to be part of a fast-paced environment where your expertise makes a real difference! Pay:

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
