Job Overview The Customer Service Assistant works within the Operations Team and is responsible for helping with load planning with external customers, resolving service challenges and achieving company service goals. The position works closely with peers, drivers, and supervision to ensure efficiency, customer service, and schedule completion. Duties Responsible for Customer focused service. Timely respond to all Customer inquiries. Calculate distance, time and hours of service feasibility on multi-stop loads. Input all Customer loads via EDI or manually.
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments. Instruct Operations on equipment needs per load. Promptly communicate all delays or service failures with Customers. Initiate and follow up with OS&D procedures. Accept or decline load tenders from external Customers. Collaborate and share knowledge as part of the Customer Service and Operations Teams.
- Represent the company in a professional manner in all situations and in all types of communications.
- Cover for other Customer Service Specialists when necessary (or needed).
- Assist with backhaul loads and updates.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
