About Three Pillars Three Pillars Accounting & Business Services is a growing accounting and business services firm providing bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, HR, and business advisory services to businesses across a variety of industries. We believe good bookkeeping is about more than entering transactions and reconciling bank accounts. Our clients depend on us to provide accurate financial information, identify problems, communicate clearly, and be a resource when they have business questions. Our goal is to be the first call our clients make when they have a business question. The Position We are looking for an Experienced Bookkeeper / Client Accounting Specialist who can independently manage the day-to-day and monthly bookkeeping for multiple business clients. This is not an entry-level bookkeeping position. We are looking for someone who is accurate, organized, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of their assigned clients. You do not need to know everything. What is important to us is that you understand bookkeeping well enough to recognize when something doesn't look right, investigate routine problems, ask good questions, and know when an issue should be brought to a more senior team member. What You'll Be Responsible For Manage bookkeeping for multiple business clients Complete monthly bookkeeping and month-end close Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts Reconcile routine Balance Sheet accounts Review the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss for accuracy Identify missing information and follow up directly with clients Identify duplicate transactions, unusual balances, negative accounts, old uncleared transactions, and incorrect classifications Research and resolve routine bookkeeping discrepancies Assist with bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up projects Prepare monthly financial statements Process or assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Assist with payroll reconciliations Prepare sales and use tax information and returns Assist with QuickBooks setup and Chart of Accounts maintenance Assist with year-end bookkeeping close Communicate directly with clients regarding bookkeeping questions and missing information Document issues that need additional review Work with senior team members to resolve more complicated accounting situations Follow Three Pillars processes, checklists, and quality-control procedures What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong QuickBooks Online experience QuickBooks Desktop experience is a plus Experience working with multiple companies or client accounts preferred Strong bank and credit-card reconciliation skills Understanding of the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Working knowledge of loans, payroll liabilities, equity, COGS, and journal entries Ability to identify bookkeeping errors and unusual account balances Strong attention to detail Strong organization and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while also being part of a team Willingness to ask questions when appropriate Ability to accept feedback and apply it Desire to continue learning and developing accounting skills Experience working in an accounting firm, outsourced bookkeeping company, or other multi-client environment is preferred. An accounting degree is a plus, but real-world bookkeeping experience, accuracy, organization, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn are more important to us. Pay:
$25.00 - $31.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 40.0 per week
