The Customer Service Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional service to bank customers by handling daily transactions, resolving account inquiries, and promoting bank products and services. This position serves as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other financial transactions while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a positive customer experience. This role requires the ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and recommend appropriate banking solutions that support customers' financial goals. Previous banking experience is required, along with a solid understanding of banking regulations, account servicing procedures, and financial products.
Key Responsibilities:
Open, maintain, and update consumer accounts, including checking, savings, IRAs, CDs, and related account types. Assist customers with IRA documentation, beneficiary updates, transfers, rollovers, and ongoing IRA maintenance Administer safe deposit box services, including customer access, documentation, and record maintenance. Perform account servicing requests such as address changes, name changes, account closures, and account research. Review and process account documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. Provide clear explanations of account features, statements, fees, and bank policies upon request. Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, timely settlement, and fraud mitigation. Assist customers with check orders, debit card requests, stop payments, and general account maintenance updates. Provide support for digital banking services, including online banking, bill pay, ACH services, and Positive Pay. Review and process overdraft decisions, ensuring proper documentation and timely customer communication. Resolve customer inquiries and issues through research and follow-up while maintaining strict confidentiality. Collaborate with branch and operations teams to ensure smooth account servicing and adherence to internal controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous banking, credit union, or financial services experience in a customer service or account support role required. Familiarity with consumer deposit accounts and basic banking regulations. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
