Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Cashier/Customer Service Associate, where your energy and enthusiasm will create a welcoming environment for every customer. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail skills in a fast-paced, engaging setting. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping experience, including product demos when needed. Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process transactions efficiently and handle cash, credit, or digital payments with precision. Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are attractive and accessible. Upsell relevant products by understanding customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their purchase. Conduct basic math calculations for transactions, discounts, and refunds while ensuring cash handling accuracy. Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and participating in periodic stock counts. Assist with product knowledge sharing to educate customers during product demos or promotional events. Demonstrate strong communication skills to resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure a positive shopping environment in a retail or grocery store setting. Requirements Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus. Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively. Strong communication skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette are necessary for engaging customers professionally. Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts. Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to upsell products while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor. Basic knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your effectiveness in this role.
