Job Description

Position Overview The Customer Specialist serves as the primary liaison between our customers and internal operations, driving satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. This role blends high-level technical customer support, account management, and proactive inside sales, ensuring seamless execution from initial inquiry and order processing through post-purchase resolution and relationship maintenance.
Key Responsibilities Order & Transaction Management:
Ensure the accurate, compliant, and timely end-to-end processing of customer transactions, including orders, quotes, sample and catalog requests, returns, and product recalls.
Technical Support & Education:
Provide expert technical customer service, clearly educating clients on complex product features, specifications, and operational benefits to maximize value.
Sales & Account Growth:
Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities by assessing customer needs, recommending relevant products and services, maximizing active promotions, generating qualified sales leads, and directly driving revenue.
Problem Resolution:
Own and resolve escalated product or service challenges by diagnosing root causes, executing corrective actions, expediting resolutions, and conducting thorough follow-ups.
Field Support & Collaboration:
Partner closely with outside sales representatives and the broader customer service team to align account strategies, support territory travel as needed, and hit team objectives.
Data Integrity & Administration:
Maintain meticulous, up-to-date customer files, ERP records, and documentation of all sales and service activities within Customer Master software.
Qualifications & Education Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a customer-facing, customer service, or inside sales role within a dynamic corporate environment.
Systems Proficiency:
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, alongside hands-on experience utilizing a full-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (SAP strongly preferred) and Customer Master or CRM software.
Technical & Professional Requirements Problem-Solving & Analytics:
Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills to diagnose complex issues, evaluate data, and execute swift, effective solutions.
Communication:
Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
Organization:
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, multitask efficiently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
Work Ethic:
A proactive, self-motivated mindset emphasizing teamwork, interpersonal cooperation, and continuous process improvement.
Travel:
Ability to travel occasionally within the designated territory to support key client engagements and field sales initiatives.
