Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Service Specialist to join our onsite healthcare revenue cycle team in Pittsburgh, PA. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service while researching and resolving patient account concerns, accurately posting payments, reconciling deposits, and supporting cash-handling activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare revenue cycle, customer service, payment posting, cashiering, or cash handling and will be comfortable working with confidential patient information and financial transactions. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to patients, clients, providers, and facilities by researching, troubleshooting, and resolving account-related concerns in a timely and professional manner. Accurately post patient and guarantor payments and reconcile posted payments with deposited amounts to ensure activity is complete, balanced, and properly documented. Receive deposits from client providers and facilities, log deposits on the designated spreadsheet, and securely store funds in the safe until pickup by the assigned banking service provider. Assist patients with cash-related issues involving client onsite payment stations, including researching payment concerns, documenting account activity, and escalating issues as appropriate. Respond to patient questions regarding statements, balances, payment options, and account status while maintaining a courteous and patient-focused approach. Partner with internal departments, client contacts, and revenue cycle teams to resolve customer service issues, payment discrepancies, deposit questions, and account concerns. Review correspondence, account notes, reports, and payment-related work queues and take appropriate action in accordance with established procedures. Accurately document account activity and follow established workflows and processes. Identify trends, missed collection opportunities, payment discrepancies, and workflow gaps that may impact the patient, client, or provider experience. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies, client procedures, cash-handling standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, customer service, call center, payment posting, cashiering, or cash handling preferred. Experience resolving patient account concerns, posting payments, reconciling deposits, and working with payment systems preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-resolution skills. Ability to research and resolve account issues with accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail. Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, patient balances, payment posting, collections, and reconciliation. Ability to appropriately handle cash, deposits, and confidential patient information in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, client contacts, providers, and facilities. Professional and patient-focused approach when handling sensitive financial and account-related concerns.
