About Flores Family Law Flores Family Law is a boutique family law practice based in Sacramento, California, dedicated to providing thoughtful, personalized legal services to individuals and families navigating divorce, child custody, support, and other family law matters. We are seeking a motivated, organized, and personable Legal Administrative & Client Services Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a current law student, college student considering law school, or individual interested in developing a career in the legal field. The position offers hands-on exposure to the daily operations of a law firm, direct interaction with an experienced family law attorney, and the opportunity to develop valuable professional and legal administrative skills. Position Overview The Legal Administrative & Client Services Coordinator will be responsible for managing the firm's daily administrative operations, serving as the first point of contact for prospective and existing clients, and ensuring that the office operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and comfortable working independently in a small-firm environment. Because our practice involves sensitive family law matters, we place particular importance on empathy, discretion, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities Client Intake & Communication Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly. Serve as the initial point of contact for prospective clients. Assist with prospective-client intake and conflict-check procedures. Schedule consultations, collect consultation fees, and coordinate appointment confirmations. Communicate with existing clients regarding administrative matters, appointments, and outstanding documentation. Maintain a welcoming, professional, and compassionate client experience. Administrative & Case Management Maintain attorney calendars, appointments, and case-related deadlines. Organize and maintain electronic client files. Assist with preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documents. Coordinate electronic filing and service of legal documents. Track outstanding client documentation and follow up as necessary. Assist with routine administrative correspondence. Maintain accurate information in the firm's case management software. Office Operations Assist with administrative recordkeeping and office organization. Maintain and improve internal procedures and workflows. Support the firm's transition toward a fully virtual practice. All legal work will be performed under attorney supervision.
Qualifications Required:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks. Professional and compassionate demeanor when communicating with clients. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and general computer applications. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Reliable attendance and availability during the established work schedule.
Preferred:
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or law school program, particularly students interested in pursuing a legal career. Prior experience in a law firm, professional office, or client-facing administrative position. Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, or case management software. Interest in family law and access to legal services. Spanish-speaking proficiency is strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply. Prior legal experience is not required for candidates who demonstrate strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a genuine interest in the legal field. Training will be provided. Schedule & Work Arrangement This is a part-time position consisting of approximately 20 hours per week.
Anticipated schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The position will initially be 100% in person at our Sacramento office to facilitate training, mentorship, and familiarity with the firm's operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both an office environment and independently from a remote location. Compensation & Professional Development $26.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Consistent part-time schedule. Hands-on experience in a boutique family law practice.
