Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative Best Rate Fleet Services Best Rate Fleet Services is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to help coordinate our 24/7 truck repair, roadside service, towing, and fleet-service operations. This position serves as the primary point of contact between customers, technicians, drivers, and management. The ideal candidate can communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, multitask effectively, and keep jobs moving from the initial phone call through completion. Responsibilities Answer incoming customer calls and service requests professionally and promptly. Gather accurate information including customer name, company, phone number, truck/trailer information, location, and description of the problem. Create and maintain service jobs in the company's dispatch/invoicing system. Dispatch mechanics, roadside technicians, runners, and towing resources to service calls. Monitor active jobs and maintain communication with technicians and customers. Provide customers with estimated arrival times and appropriate job-status updates. Coordinate parts availability, parts pickups, and other operational needs with technicians. Maintain accurate notes, timestamps, customer information, and job documentation. Communicate estimates and obtain required customer approvals according to company procedures. Assist customers with questions regarding services, invoices, and job status while escalating payment disputes or management issues when necessary. Coordinate service between Best Rate Fleet Services locations and centralized dispatch. Prioritize emergency roadside calls and make adjustments when multiple jobs are active. Follow up with technicians to ensure jobs are progressing and properly documented. Assist with fleet-account customers and maintain a high level of customer service. Help identify opportunities to turn one-time customers into repeat fleet-service accounts. Follow all company dispatch procedures, communication standards, and documentation requirements. Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer-service skills. Ability to remain professional with frustrated or stressed customers. Ability to multitask and manage multiple active service calls at once. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Comfortable using computers, phone systems, text messaging, email, and web-based software. Dependable and able to report for scheduled shifts consistently. Able to work independently with limited supervision. Previous dispatch, transportation, trucking, roadside assistance, towing, call-center, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of commercial trucks and trailers is a plus. What We Look For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their shift. Dispatchers are expected to actively manage jobs—not simply answer the phone. You should know which technicians are available, where active jobs stand, what customers are waiting on, and what needs to happen next. Communication is one of the most important parts of this position. Customers and technicians should not have to repeatedly call dispatch for information that should already be communicated. Schedule Best Rate Fleet Services operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . Dispatch positions may include daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts depending on scheduling needs. Work Environment This is a fast-paced position supporting commercial truck drivers, trucking companies, mechanics, roadside technicians, and fleet customers. Some situations are urgent, and the dispatcher must be capable of making good decisions and communicating effectively under pressure.
