The main purpose of this position is to provide customer service to taxpayers including taking property tax payments, answering phone calls/emails and data entry for appraisal district operations. This is accomplished by performing responsible technical duties using software and programs designed for these tasks. Other responsibilities include research and special projects.
Education, Experience, and Training:
Minimum HS Diploma or equivalency. Experience taking cash payments. Customer Service experience. Applicants with equivalent work experience will be strongly considered.
Skills In Customer Service:
effectively communicate with taxpayer regarding property tax matters.
Cashier duties:
competently take property tax payments.
Data entry:
competently enter data from forms submitted by taxpayers and interoffice communications. Proficient computer skills, typing skills and organizational skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, are required. Ability To Communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Process payments efficiently and balance cash drawer. Enter data provided on either hard copy forms or electronically. Provide customer service in a pleasant manner. Flexibility as it pertains to day-to-day tasks due to shifting priorities. Efficiently manage time to meet deadlines. Courteously and respectfully work with other employees. Physical Demands and Work Environment Regular and consistent attendance is required. Work is performed mainly in an office setting, and may require bending, climbing, typing, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Must be able to see fine print and detail on subdivision plats and assorted documents. Additional Details Applicants should have a pleasant demeanor, strong work ethic, and enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment. Salary is contingent on experience and qualifications.
