POSITION PURPOSE
The Client Advocate will perform clerical and technical work of routine difficulty involved in processing the required forms and documentation necessary to execute Grant Assistance Programs between CSP Energy Housing and participants. The successful candidate will ensure program data is properly collected and accurately entered into the system of record, provide clients with information and referral services as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Within pre-determined deadlines schedules applicant appointments; processes and certifies applicant eligibility; conducts eligibility interviews; verifies all household information to determine the amount of assistance; seeks additional information from applicants as needed. Certifies participants' including but not limited to income, allowances, deductions, utilities, family composition, and all other forms of verification for the provision of assistance and utility reimbursement assistance; and completes such tasks with an error rate of less than 3% Performs data processing functions to produce documents/reports for the CSP Programs. Ensures follow-up and resolution for all findings' reported through the system. Ensures that all client files meet all Regulations and in-house standards as set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures. Maintains client's file integrity in accordance with BVCAP privacy and confidentiality laws and regulations. Terminates/cancels participants in systems; closes out files, reviews files for possible termination, makes decision based on policies and procedures to continue with termination, closes out portability files when client is absorbed to ensure proper processing of terminations. Responds timely to inquiries from clients, and the general public by providing general information about the CSP Programs and resolves client concerns regarding assistance. Translates program procedures to participants to ensure proper explanation of participant's responsibilities in the program. Attend all designated training, staff developments, and staff meetings as required to enhance job performance, knowledge, and skills Performs other related functions as assigned.BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

To perform this job successfully, the employee should have: Ability to maintain effective working relationships public. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Knowledge of client service principles and practices and interviewing skills and techniques. Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands with excellent problem solving and organizational skills while meeting established deadlines. Intermediate working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and Mail Merge, with the ability to learn new software applications. Skill in reading, interpreting, and applying standards, rules and regulations and BVCAP policies and procedures.
