SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for accepting/processing orders and answering questions about price, product availability, order status, and lead-times. Acts as a liaison between all company departments and the customer to ensure efficiency and communication are maintained. Monitors, follows-up, and resolves issues with customers regarding changes in requirements (which could be customer or company driven). Works to resolve all issues related to delivery, pricing, and any other general issues customers may have promptly. Works with all internal departments at all levels to ensure customer satisfaction
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accepts incoming phone calls, e-mails, and texts requests for quotation, price, delivery and new/change orders. Answers questions related to company's product offering. Develops, documents, audits, and maintains all customer activity in SAP system. Maintains data entry on orders and performs order verification to ensure accuracy. Maintains necessary records, files, and report in electronic format. Understands the urgency and priorities of situations, as they arise, and implements appropriate and timely responses. Establishes and maintains key relationships with customers, and key internal departments at all levels in order to drive operational excellence. Ability to understand and interpret metrics and reports as established by management. Maintains the highest ethical standards. Look to add value to orders by upselling and increasing sales volume. Gain information from vendors and internal departments to provide complete information to both internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
Communication Follow-Up Initiating Action Planning and Organizing Work Standard Flexibility Strong customer relationships Independent Learner Education and/or Experience Bachelors degree preferred High School or GED equivalent required Minimum 2-4 years experience in customer service/data entry role a plus. SAP experience is preferred One to three years (1-3) experience working with inside and outside sales. Intermediate skill level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Ability to multi-task Ability to work well under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs. of material, finger dexterity for activities such as data entry and calculator use, grasping, repetitive motions, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between locations. Must have experience with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and accounting.
