Job Description
Job Summary The Authorization CSR I primary responsibility is customer service and information intake. General duties include gathering information and documents, maintaining a high level of customer service, and creating a complete report for each call. Employee will need to complete position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within the appropriate time frame, and have a sense of urgency while completing tasks in an efficient, professional manner. Employee will be in a phone queue, taking calls from a variety of people and ensuring quick and compassionate service. Must exhibit excellent phone etiquette, including grammar and ideal customer service skills. This position involves discretion and independent action. Employee should have the ability to work independently and self-efficiently in a team setting. Responsibilities Answering phones for authorization appointment scheduling, answering questions, taking messages and forwarding calls as applicable Communicating with facilities for obtaining face sheets, Medical Necessity •(PCS) or other clinical information required/missing for non-emergent runs Communicating with patients/facilities/case managers etc. - regarding required documentation prior to scheduling transports/appointments Calculating and processing
