Job Description

Advancing Abilities Day Program, located in Piketon, Ohio, is hiring a LPN or RN; Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:30pm (paid hourly). We offer a competitive wage scale and a comprehensive benefits package! Accountability Objectives:
The nurse is responsible for coordination of all health and medical services provided to the individuals served. The primary areas of responsibility for this individual include knowledge of pertinent policies and procedures; overseeing the administration of medications and medical treatments per physician order; communication with team members, physicians, and others as needed; and assuring proper documentation of medications and treatments administered. The nurse will assist in direct training, follow up, and coaching of team members, keeping the Program Department informed at all times. Finally, s/he is responsible to assist the Program Director/Administrator in maintaining consistency in the provision of supports and services to the individuals and in communicating with all team members.
Specific Accountabilities:
Respect the individual's rights and confidentiality, and assure they are met. Be "on-call" to answer and respond to concerns and situations and to be called upon to delegated nursing task and/or medication administration as applicable. Coordinate pharmaceutical services. Participate in the IP process, being aware of programs and assist in the development of self-medication programs. Consistently inform team members and other necessary employees of pertinent health concerns. Conduct employee in-services on resident care issues, procedures, and new policies/practices. Exhibit a friendly and cooperative attitude toward all customers. Assist fellow team members to resolve issues and/or refer to others for further guidance. Deal with inappropriate employee actions in a timely manner. Prepare assignments and/or perform other duties as requested by DON or Administration in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 18 years of age. High school diploma/GED required. Must be licensed by the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse. Experience in working in the DD/IID or related field is preferred. Prefer experience in managing/supervising others in previous employment. Also must possess all of the following: A sincere desire to provide direct service and supports to persons with developmental disabilities; Ability to make sound judgments when given guidance and priorities; Ability to work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality in services; ability to exchange support, constructive criticism, and ideas with other team members.
