Deli Clerk

Shetler Island, IGA is a small family owned and operated supermarket with a goal to provide excellent service to the Shelter Island community.

• Part-time and Full Time Permanent Positions Duties:

• Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
• Prepare, serve and take customer orders of deli items such as sandwiches, salads, soups and slice cold cuts
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
• Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed
• Stock and replenish and rotate deli products and supplies
• Upsell additional items or specials to customers
• Unload Truck
• Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations

Qualifications:

• Strong Command of the English Language
• Will train
• Excellent customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
