In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control and medical documentation. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a smooth, efficient, and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed rigorously. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including updating medical history, treatment notes, and coding procedures appropriately. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients requiring special care or pediatric dentistry services. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort during procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term dental health. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting with experience in medical imaging, X-ray techniques, and infection control protocols. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with pediatrics-focused treatments confidently. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when coordinating appointments or explaining procedures to patients. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and compliance with privacy standards. Demonstrated ability to maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.
