Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing materials efficiently. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Provide chairside assistance by monitoring vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring their comfort throughout treatments. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation responsibly. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records efficiently. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively explain procedures and assist patients of all ages. Certification or training in chairside assisting, medical terminology, medical coding, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
