In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental care to patients across a wide age range, ensuring their oral health needs are met with professionalism, compassion, and expertise. As a Dental Associate, you will collaborate closely with our experienced staff to deliver exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and infection control. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive environment that values continuous learning and patient-centered care. The office was completely renovated in 2020 with heat, massage and TV in all treatment rooms. Chatham is a robust and growing community with great schools, restaurants and services. It's just a few minutes to Springfield and a short drive to St Louis and Chicago. Responsibilities Perform general dentistry procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canal therapy with precision and care. Assist in complex procedures such as prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and dental fabrication to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories and evaluating oral health status. Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions clearly to patients. Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Use practice management software such as Dentrix or similar systems for scheduling, billing, and record keeping. Demonstrate proficiency in dental office procedures including sterilization, patient care coordination, and medical documentation updates. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their individual needs. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry setups to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Qualifications DDS or DMD from an accredited US school. Valid Illinois dental license with eligibility to practice as a Dental Associate. Proven experience in general dentistry; experience with pediatric dentistry or pediatric patients is a plus. Familiarity with Dentrix dental software is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance. Skills in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery procedures preferred. Strong understanding of medical records management. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Commitment to maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards within the clinic environment. Prior experience working in a busy dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
