Director, Cardiopulmonary Job Summary:
Handles administrative duties within the office and performs clerical duties to maintain an organized office.Essential Functions:
Initial Order intake and registration of patient into scheduling database. Obtaining history and physical information from patient. Verification of patient insurance and authorization if necessary. Scheduling of patient. Completion of chart. Communicating to Hospital staff of all scheduled sleep study appointments Confirmation of sleep study appointments. Collecting final interpretation report and distribution to all physicians documented on patients release of information. Making DME referral to Oaklawn Home Medical and initial patient follow up call. Communication with physician offices. Notify technicians of any last-minute changes in schedules or patient needs. Checking in incoming supplies. Cleaning. Filing, answering phones, copying, and faxing. Variety of miscellaneous duties. Preparing home sleep study device(s) and/or screening devices for patient pickup. Instructing patient how to perform home testing device and/or screening device. Downloading the home screening device to obtain patients report and distribution to patient's physician. Registration of home sleep study patients through Hospital registration procedures. Perform downloads of patients Pap therapy compliance. Desensitization of patients, mask fittings and troubleshoot as needed to improve compliance. Scheduling of clinic appointments for Dr. Adam's clinic patients. Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Assist with routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation. Demonstrate computer skills appropriate for the position. Demonstrate effective written and spoken communication skills. Demonstrate appropriate social skills. Demonstrate patient care skills. Demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to follow directions. Demonstrate teamwork skills. Follow HIPAA polices to maintain the privacy and security of patient information. Adhere to sleep center policies related to quality assurance.Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED plus six (6) months of previous office experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent telephone, written communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with data extraction from multiple information systems; experience using email and electronic calendar; proficiency with Microsoft Office products for word-processing and spreadsheets; able to work independently.Working Conditions:
